Respite Care Information

St George’s in Wirral is happy to provide short term care for what ever period is required (48hours – 4 weeks) or more if required

We recognise the value of Respite Care to support carers providing long term care to loved ones, and to facilitate individuals to get back on their feet as they leave hospital (convalescence).

Some may wish to consider periods of rotating care where care may be provided on a regular basis (i.e. 4 – 6 times each year). We can often provide emergency respite for times when a crisis may occur to the main carer leaving them unable to maintain their usual support and commitment to their loved ones.

Individuals are reminded that they may be entitled to have several weeks each year (together or separately) funded fully by Wirral Borough Council if assessed as requiring this level of care.
